What does Pioneer sell?

Pioneer sells financial planning knowledge and know how so that our clients can achieve their goals in the most effective way possible. This often means that clients save time and money in the implementation of proper, effective and sustainable financial solutions. Our clients value greatly the trust that they put in us and the assurance that we return.

These solutions can be offered to retail investors, companies, trustees and other professionals where our advice offers value.

Pioneer’s distinct client proposition

Pioneer is a modern and innovative firm that has been launched in 2012 very much with the advent of the 2013 financial services RDR as its USP.

This enables us to fully embrace a service where commissions are no longer a point of contention so that you pay explicitly for the services that we provide and maintain.

The firm’s Principal is Julian Barrow who has retained a loyal client following for many years and accrued over a span of 15 years industry experience.  Julian is a graduate of Law with honours and is a Chartered Financial Planning consultant. This enables Pioneer to offer a service that is wider than that offered by many firms so whilst our key area of expertise is the management of pension and investment assets we also offer services such as:

  • Equity Release and Long Term Care planning (often working alongside Solicitors in this area)
  • Corporate/Business planning (alongside Accountants)
  • Mortgages (alongside Estate Agents).

How have we maintained client loyalty?

We provide good, clear and concise advice to retail clients, and that’s what we do best.

People will remain loyal to people that they trust, who offer value and who make their lives easier.

Our ethical and professional approach enables us to maintain a high net worth client proposition whilst retaining a bank of city clients, business owners and retired private clients.

Well, we do not aspire to promise to achieve for our clients vast wealth (we can only work with the resources that we are given for each client) but we would expect to be able to achieve for our clients:

Is Pioneer the right kind of outfit for you?

This is a key question so we try to answer this quickly for you.

Firstly, we need to see if you and Pioneer will work well together and this is achieved by way of an initial familiarisation meeting. As long as this is undertaken at our Chobham office this initial meeting is offered at our own expense. This may involve little more than 30 minutes of our time so do ask for an appointment.

How will you know what you need?

Next if we feel that you may be a client that we can work with, we figure out what you need, or perhaps just want, from your financial planning. This is addressed by a fact finding exercise which will result in us helping you to identify the areas of priority.

Although we offer a fully holistic review service, many new clients will initially prefer to focus on certain areas, meaning that other aspects are managed with the clients as our relationship develops.

How do we maintain and develop Pioneer though?

This business is a highly personalised one where bespoke solutions are required, in this way advertising and marketing has limited benefit so the business thrives from clients who kindly recommend our services to like-minded friends and colleagues. If our clients are genuinely happy with the services of Pioneer we ask for referrals.

Pioneer’s structure

Pioneer is directly regulated by the FCA rather than through regulatory agencies. This means that we are directly accountable to our regulator and maintain a truly independent service, whilst other firms may have restrictions on their advisory range.

We have no third party interests in our business so the people that you deal with here have full ownership and a fully vested interest in Pioneer.

Our only concern is our business which is nothing without our clients.
